Water is one of the largest sources of human and animal life and can be found in virtually everything on Earth, yet so often it is one of the most overlooked resources in terms of protection and conservation. Sustainable water sources are susceptible to many damages that can come both naturally and artificially, and human effort is just one piece of the large equation that can change our world for the better, beginning with cleaning and maintaining our local waterways.
Whether the water is utilized for transportation, recreation, wild life conservation, or any other conceivable use, it is our job to protect it. Fish don’t want to live in water where they might get stuck in a plastic bag, but that is the reality. Parents don’t want their children to cut themselves on broken glass bottles while swimming, but that is the reality. Water itself even becomes unsafe to use when the PH of the the source is altered due to garbage and other outside material, but this all continues to be a recurring reality. Humans have perpetuated a culture of ignorance and an uncaring mindset that has led to the destruction of our waterways and oceans. Now, it’s time for humans to care again, it’s time for our waterways to be clean again, it’s time to change our world for the better before we lose it all together.
iCleanWaterways is a national movement actively removing trash from our springs, creeks, rivers and our many lakes while promoting personal responsibility. Our goal is to eliminate the trash one pound at a time for our children and generations after.
